You can hold your Big Book Sale on any day that suits you and your school calendar. However you might like to consider tying it in with World Book Day (Thursday 5 March), World Storytelling Day (Friday 20 March) or International Children’s Book Day (Thursday 2 April).

Step by step
It's as easy as ABC... A. Decide on a date and time for your event and let pupils and parents know.
B. Pupils from each class bring to school any books that they do not want anymore or have outgrown.
C. Groups / classes set up and decorate their marketplace style stalls, sell the books and count up the proceeds! Raise over £200 and split the funds, keeping up to 20% for your school.

What is the Big Book Sale? The MS Society Big Book Sale is an exciting new fundraising project for primary schools. It's a fantastic opportunity to celebrate reading, support literacy and encourage young enterprise whilst raising money for a worthwhile cause. All you need is a date and time for your event and lots of unwanted books supplied by your pupils.
How do I organise a Big Book Sale? Simply sign up now and we'll send you your Big Book Sale fundraising pack in January ready to organise your event.

Where do I hold a Big Book Sale? Your school is the ideal place to hold your Big Book Sale. Pupils can get to work decorating their classrooms, or you could use your school hall as a marketplace.
Where will the money go? The money you raise will help us provide vital services to people affected by MS. MS is typically diagnosed between the ages of twenty and forty, but many young people can experience symptoms, and some children take on a role as a young carer when a parent is diagnosed. Raise over £200 and spilit the funds, keeping up to 20% for your school.
Where do I send the money I raise? You will receive a donation return form in your fundraising pack. Simply bank the money you have raised and then send us a cheque made payable to the MS Society along with the donation return form. If you have lost your donation form don't worry, just send us a letter with your cheque stating your contact details and when you held your Big Book Sale.
