On-site Tools
The very nature of the Internet is such that not everyone necessarily sees everything in the same style; this all depends upon the person's individual settings on their computer. So the best accessible sites are those that allow for this flexibility and plan for simple and clear information.
The MS Society website is designed with accessibility in mind. You can view our checklist and guidelines here.
The main everyday tools that could help you while you are on our site are listed with a short summary on this page. However what you might find is that the most effective way for you to get a format that suits you is to change the settings on your computer or get some specialist equipment to help.

Text-only Tool
Every page on our site includes a link to a 'text only' alternative; this link is near the top left of the page. Once you click this link the site will be displayed in text only mode; the images should appear as text and the page should appear in a linear structure as opposed the 3 columns on the graphical version of the site. To get back to the graphical version of the site you simply click the 'graphic site' link near to top of the page.Notes: One thing to remember with this is that not every page is available as text only because of what the page is trying to do e.g. the discussion boards are made up of content that changes all the time and that is therefore formatted by the system, it would be difficult to create text only alternatives because of this fact.
Text Resize Tool
Near the top left of the page is a 'text resizer' or 'TEXT BIGGER' link. This cycles the text size through 3 different sizes. Combined with some of the settings on your computer this tool can be very useful if you're having difficulty reading the text on the site.Hear our Website Spoken
