Privacy
All email addresses and details will be private and used by the MS Society only. We do not pass your details to outside organisations.Problems subscribing or logging in
This is commonly due to the settings on the individuals' computer. There are a number of areas on our site that use cookies to function. Please see our page on technical and security problems.Changing your details
The email alerts system allows you to change any of your details at any time, login with your registered email at: http://www.mssociety.org.uk/applications/alerts/ and use the option 'personal information' option in the menu.If you are a newsletter receiver and not registered for alerts - if you subscribe to alerts with the already registered email address you can receive the benefits of the news system and so change your personal settings yourself at any time.
To make sure you receive just the newsletter still, if this is what you want- simply tick the newsletter box when subscribing but don't register any specific interests.
I've registered but not received anything
One common problem is subscribing with an incorrect email address, often because of a typing error. If you remember the mistake you made please login with the incorrect address and change your details to be correct, see above. If you do not remember the mistaken email address please contact the webteam noting your problem and we will try to help.Other likely reasons for this problem may be that no recent emails have been sent or your email account is blocking emails that have been sent. If your email account is blocking our emails please check your help documents or speak with your system administrator to solve this problem.
Changing the number of emails you receive
Newsletters are sent on a monthly basis but email alerts are sent according to a frequency you have set. If you think you are receiving too many emails the easiest thing to do is alter the frequency to a longer time period, this means the alerts will be collated and you will get fewer emails less often. You change this setting by logging in and altering the frequency of emails of each interest you have registered. You can Log in here.
Broken links in emails
If the link in your email is not working this could be due to the settings in your email reader or because the page is no longer where the link says it is.Some email readers will split a link over more than one line and leave an incorrect link. The easiest way to deal with this is to cut and paste the full link into your browser.
If you receive a 'page not found' message when you try to visit the link please let us know here. This could be because there is a problem with the website or because the page has been removed. If you contact us we will try to help you find the information you're seeking.
Emails received with extra text that doesn't make sense
Our newsletter and alert system gives the option to receive emails in HTML or plain text. What you might be seeing is the HTML code if your email reader is not set up to read this type of format correctly. You can check your help documents to see if you can change the settings in your email reading package or you could change your profile on our system so that you only receive plain text emails. Login to change your profile.
Unsubscribing from the emails
To be removed from the email alert service please login at http://www.mssociety.org.uk/applications/alerts and update your subscriptions as necessary. To completely remove your user ID please e-mail the Web Team asking them to delete your account.
