Policy and Campaigns

A sillouette of the Houses of Parliament, with government terminology in the sky

The Policy and Campaigns team ensures that the voice of people affected by MS is heard in Parliament, by policy makers in the civil service, and at the highest level of government.

Many people with MS are still denied the ability to fully participate in society and find that existing services are not meeting their needs. This is why the MS Society is fighting for better services and a more equitable society for all those affected by the condition, and we need your help.

Key Campaigns - the MS Society's campaign priorities for 2009

  • Reforming the care and support system
From personalisation to the long-term funding solution to an ageing population, the future of care and support is one of the key issues on our agenda. The MS Society is fighting to ensure that the voices of people affected by MS are heard in the debate.
  • Welfare Reform
The government’s Welfare Reform Act signals a major change in the way that sickness benefits are paid. Anyone claiming Incapacity Benefit will be affected by these reforms at some point in the future.
  • Supporting MS Nurses
Find out how the MS Society continues to battle to secure the financial security of MS specialist nurse posts.
