The MS Society is the UK's single largest investor in MS research. By funding the very best research into treatments and supporting people in their daily lives, we can beat MS. You can help by leaving a gift in your will.

Legacies fund around 40% of our work, so they are absolutely vital to what we can achieve.

To date, we've funded thousands of scientific projects into symptom relief and conducted clinical trials into new therapies. We've helped develop treatments that can reduce the number and severity of attacks and increased our understanding of this devastating condition.

But we still have a long way to go if we are to beat MS.

That's why we are about to fund several projects which may lead to a treatment for people with progressive MS, for whom there are currently very few options. This year alone, we have doubled our investment in research to over £5 million.

The MS Society is also beginning a new initiative to help people with MS live with the unpredictable and often distressing symptoms of MS, to improve the quality of their lives day to day. You can find out more about our research into symptom relief here: Symptom Relief Research Initiative.
