Hello everyone,

I was diagnosed with RR MS a couple of weeks ago so am knew on here!!

I initially only had numbness in my skin and l'hermittes sign on the 1st two relapses, which were a year apart, however since being diagnosed and in a matter of weeks i've lost my balance and had the previous symptoms occur again - has anyone else had these symptoms, will my balance ever come back?!! :-)

Hi Suzie

I am 17 and was diagnosed with MS a few weeks ago as well. I also had numbness in the skin and loss of balance. Whem i originally had a loss of balance i was thinking the same. Once i had overcome the episode i got my balance back so dont worry. Luckily now i have been given the chance of a drug called CAMPATH. It reduces the episodes by about 80%. So why not speak to your neurologist to see if you are able to get them as long as you haven't been taking any other tablets for MS.

Good Luck

Thanks Jake, this has def reassured me.  They've given me some steroids so fingers crossed they'll calm it down a bit.  I've not heard of CAMPATH - is this just used in your area?  I'll google it!  Thanks for getting in contact, will let you know how i get on with the steroids, can't wait to be able to walk in a straight line again! :-) How have you managed the diagnosis?  Suzie xx

Hi,

just reading through your post and I can relate to it entirely. I was diagnosed with ms when I was 16 and the main symptom was poor ballance which eventually got so bad I couldnt walk at all but......

the treatments out there work wonders and touch the wood, I havnt relapsed in over 5 years and my walking is fine. My walking became so bad I was admitted to hospital where I had IV steroids and honestly, within 4 days.....I was on a trampoline at a family bbq.

Staying posotive is the key :)

Hope this has helped.

It's ok :)

Ive been on a few different treatments to be fair, it's took time to find the right one. The ones ive been on in the past have been (in order):

avonex, mitoxantrone, copaxone and now i'm on rebif. Ive had steroids also inbetween. Have been told about the different options?

I hope the steroids work for you :) I'm sure they will!
