:? Hello dear friends, there seems to be a question of knowing who the author of a post is until you open it. Why not do as I have, just a thought.....

:( More of an issue for me is the text size when writing a post I can hardly see it, :geek: very bad considering many on here have vision problems

1984 It is early days. My other problem is I want to put an avatar that is in my pictures on my computer but unless I have a ULR I can't or am I just being USELESS........

Any help will be gratefully recieved........the barking lion

Hi Stevie,

Good idea about just adding our user name to the topic ;)

As for Avatars you will need a url but that is easy. Google images of your choice and when you have found one you like copy and paste the ulr into the box in the Edit avatar space. Make sure you leave the dimensions box blank and it will then attempt to size it to fit for you.

Try and chooses a small pic though as it won't really cope with anything above 100x100 pixels and 6kb

Thanks for the idea  for authors....

Belinda

Upload your photo to Flickr or Photobucket, that are free.
Then copy the photo's photobucket URL and continue as below

Frequently asked Q & A
"How can I add an profile image?

You can add an avatar in your profile on the ‘edit avatar’ section. Add the URL image from another online source, as long as it’s within the maximum size (no bigger than 100 pixels by 100 pixels, file size no larger than 6 KiB.)

You might already have an image online you can use, on a site like Flickr for example (NB sites like Facebook may not work because of privacy settings – the image must be publicly available).

If not, find an image (please make sure you have copyright!), right click on ‘copy image url’ and paste this into the box on your profile pages.

If you need to make the image smaller, there are plenty of free image resizers online. You’ll then need to upload it to an online location like Flickr or Photobucket.
