Service Audit & Evaluation

This programme encourages health and social care professionals to audit and review the services that they provide for people affected by MS, and to identify areas that need improvement. The MS Society can provide professionals with specific resources to help measure themselves against key government policies.

The Service Audit and Evaluation programme comprises two main elements:

Measuring Success

An MS Society scheme for audit of the implementation of NICE Guideline number 8, ‘The Management of Multiple Sclerosis in Primary and Secondary Care’. A toolkit was launched in 2004 following the publication of the NICE guidance in 2003, and a new audit tool was launched in 2007 to reflect changes in the NHS.

Quality Neurology

A project for the development of an audit tool  for the National Service Framework for Long-Term Conditions (NSF). This is being lead by the MS Society in partnership with the Motor Neuron Disease Association, the Parkinsons Disease Society, Ataxia UK, York University and the Department of Health.
