Translating the NICE and NSF guidance into practice
This new second edition of the MS Society guide for physiotherapists has been updated to cross-reference both the NICE guideline and the National Service Framework (NSF). It provides essential guidance for all physiotherapists in the care and management of people with MS. It aims to demystify the topic by extracting the most pertinent elements of the NICE guideline and the NSF for busy clinicians. It poses clinical questions for physiotherapists and assistants to consider when faced with the complexities a person with MS may have to deal with. We hope it will enable every physiotherapy practitioner to engage with the NICE guideline and the NSF and to translate them into practice with enthusiasm! It should also help in making business cases for improved services – through the wider availability of specialist neuro-rehabilitation teams that are of high quality and are available when needed.
