The Role of Social Care professionals

A brief introduction to why Social Care professionals play such an essential role in supporting people living with MS.

Social Care Professionals

The MS Society’s Social Care Programme has been introduced at the direct request of our members, and is specifically designed to facilitate improvements to social care services for people affected by MS.

The programme has four key elements.

  • User Information
Equipping people with MS with the right information, knowledge and skills needed to access social care and make informed decisions about the issues affecting their lives

  • Building Links
Influencing government policy makers, commissioners and deliverers of services to improve social care services by raising the profile of people with MS

  • Social Care Staff Information
Equipping Social Care professionals with the information, knowledge and skills they need to support people with MS through access to professional guidance

  • Demonstrating Best Practice
Providing partnership support to develop new models of Social Care provision and promote best practice to influence change
