We are a group of people from Derby and the county of Derbyshire who are all linked by multiple sclerosis (MS), whether we have it ourselves, through a member of the family or a friend, or we are acting as a carer. Find out about forthcoming Derby events. We are pleased to help anyone who is affected by MS, whether they are a member or not. We hold regular meetings. The Key-Club is available to all and meets on the second Wednesday of each month (except August) at our Information and Support Centre, located at Lilian Prime House, No.7 Enterprise Way, Jubilee Business Park, Derby DE21 4BB. The Key Club starts at 19:30 hours and a light supper is provided, but please check with a committee member. Take a Virtual Tour of the New Support Centre. If you are young carer of a relative or friend with MS, more information can be found at www.youngcarers.net, where you can also ask questions or chat with other young carers like yourself.
If you prefer more active pursuits and enjoy the water, how about sailing? Sailability is an integral part of Swarkestone Sailing Club and disabled members are welcomed. Sailability has helped disabled adults and children find new levels of freedom and also encourages disabled people to compete in all aspects of racing and club life. More information can be found at Sailability.
Additional Social events and Outings are also arranged on a periodic basis. These may include meals out, get togethers in pubs, socials sometimes with a speaker or activity, visits to the theatre, day trips to the seaside or any place that is suitable and enjoyable. To obtain further information, please contact us at the new centre (01332 611810) or the dedicated Branch MS freephone line at 0800 328 1554.
It you just want a social dialogue on your PC with other people affected by MS, have you tried Facebook? There is an MS Derby group under the Clubs section, but you will first need to register free at Facebook.
