Some facts about MS and Romania
Our work with Romania
The UK has worked closely with the Romanian Society since 2000.
Information about MS in Romanian was identified as an urgent need and so a leaflet on living with MS was produced for PwMS and health professionals in Romania.
In 2000 Romanian volunteers travelled to the UK, visiting branches and the National Centre.
We sponsor Romanian delegates to attend international meetings and supported their application to join the European MS Platform.
In 2002 we provided a small grant for training of the new Board.
After meeting with a member of the Romanian Society, two projects on which we could offer support in 2003 were identified. These were the national AGM, which was held in March, and the development of a National MS Health Plan.
