More about Tony Kennan, our Chairman
Tony's involvement with the MS Society now spans more than 30 years following diagnosis of two of his wife’s family. He has seen close up how MS can affect individuals and their families and friends.
He has been actively involved in our branches and the regions and in 1999 was elected to serve as a Trustee. Since then he has been involved in all aspects of the MS Society’s work at Board level.
He became a Vice Chair in 2003 and has been Chairman since 2005.
His working life was in the transport industry where he was a director of a number of companies. He was proud to be awarded an OBE in 2002 for services to disabled persons’ transport.
Over the last three years he has led a relatively new set of trustees in a time of considerable change and progress. An excellent new Chief Executive has been recruited who in turn has formed a powerful management team and dedicated staff. The Board has approved an exciting and challenging new strategy for the future of the MS Society.
He is more convinced than ever that a combination of our dedicated volunteers and skilled professionals will generate better services, promote independence for people with MS and stimulate high quality research.
