More about Steve Whitaker
Since Steve's wife was diagnosed eleven years ago he has been an active volunteer with his local MS branch taking on a variety of roles including chair, welfare volunteer, newsletter editor, web editor and driver as well as developing partnerships with a number of external agencies. Steve has been active at regional level and has also been a trustee for the last three years.
Steve has been a carer for over twenty five years looking after a variety of conditions and needs. Using this experience he will seek to ensure that quality support and training is readily available to all carers and volunteers.
Working for London Buses, Steve has implemented projects to improve access to public transport, and has knowledge of the challenges faced and practical solutions for everyday travel. His experience in this area is of great benefit to the board.
The Society has been at the forefront of MS research, with significant new developments emerging. Steve believes that funding grants should be made to projects of the highest quality and which demonstrate real benefit to people with MS.
