More about Judith Illsley
A personal connection to someone with MS was the starting point for Judith's association with the Society. Over the past three years, two of those as Vice Chair, Judith has met with many people across the UK struggling with the impact of MS. For many of them, all they ask is to be treated fairly, with dignity and respect, and as individuals with a right to make the best of their lives and of those around them.
The Society’s 5-year strategy is critical in ensuring this, and having helped in its development, Judith wishes to continue her involvement as a Trustee to make sure the strategy is implemented to benefit all those affected by MS. Judith's background in health and social care, and her familiarity with the workings of government will be useful in this process.
Judith has worked hard as a trustee and in her previous role as Vice Chair to make sure the Society is governed effectively and that members and donors can have confidence that the Board is using its resources in the best possible way to make the biggest impact. In particular Judith has enjoyed working with the Northern Ireland community to get the Society there back on track.
