What are the MS Society Awards?
The MS Society created the awards to recognise individuals and groups, professionals and volunteers from across the MS community. These people are making a real difference to the lives of those affected by multiple sclerosis (MS) in the UK.
The awards will be presented at the Gala Awards Lunch on 1 May 2009 at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington to coincide with MS Awareness Week.
Nominations for the MS Society Awards closed on Friday 5th December. A list of those nominated will appear early in 2009 when the shortlist is announced.

The categories for the awards are:
- Best MS Research
- MS Researcher of the Year (Note: this is no longer age restricted)
- Best MS Information Resource
- MS Community of the Year
- MS Fundraiser of the Year
- MS Carer of the Year
- MS Professional of the Year
- MS Campaign of the Year
