Laurence Robb's Diary
Monday 16th December 2002:
I'm still waiting for a reply from the neuro-physiotherapist. I left a message on the answering machine at the hospital and sent an email. I would like to have some musclo-electrostimulation. About 10 years ago I took part in an experiment using this at the Bristol Royal Infirmary for the MS Research Unit (MS FIRST). I know it worked.
Instead, I got a call from the Practice Manager of my surgery about the disabled parking bays I would like near the surgery and the post office in my village.
No call from the physiotherapist maybe she's rushed off her feet. There are not enough. I have campaigned to get one appointed for my PCT.
I stopped worrying and rested during the afternoon. I don't need long but I must sleep. Then, I did my physiotherapy movements of the day; standing in front of the worktop lifting and swinging my legs. Oh, I don't like Mondays.

Tuesday 17th December 2002:
I like Tuesdays. I go to the art studio and work 2 hours. I go using my Motability car and I get some help in and out of the car. A colleague comes home with me to be sure I am OK indoors.
It's the week before Xmas, some friend passed by to give me a card and a present. By the time she arrived I had done too much walking and standing. I could have asked her to carry my lunch onto the table. I forgot. I lost balance and my mug of herb tea fell on me. The good thing is that the mug seems to have bounced! I could not stand up easily. I had a moment of screaming. It helps me focus. I got up, changed and ate part of my lunch.
Sleep was brought forwards and lasted longer today. I left another message to be sure I was going to have a call from the neuro-physiotherapist. Then, I did my movements, I like Tuesdays, these movements are stretches on the floor. I know that they help one remain supple. It can help in case of falls, I think.
