Liz the editor
In 2001 Liz Burns got involved as the West Midlands regional site editor. Her site is very active and a welcoming place to go to (we think). When Liz asked us for advice on buying a digital camera, in return we said 'can you write a diary of your life over the last 12 months as a web editor?' This is what she wrote. Enjoy!

I have just received a copy of my reference saying I am 'a dedicated and suitably committed person'. I'm not really sure what came over me when I replied to MS Matters call for regional volunteers; My years since being diagnosed have been spent working voluntarily in primary schools. Time to work with grown ups?
July 2002
Ann Crossley (regional chair) and Mary Fielding (RSC), between them have now very gently increased my involvement with the region to asking for bits of information for the newsletter and on to writing a regular two page article. Plus the editorial meetings at Helen Ley care home.
August 2002
No. This I cannot do. Mary has emailed asking if I will become involved with the new regional website. I know nothing about websites! My computer skills are minimal and self taught. Every email I send with another reason why I can't do it is countered with one explaining how I could. Ann telephoned saying how good I would be at it. I think I'm caught in another of their pincer movements. Adam (15) reading emails over my shoulder says 'go for it mum'!
September 2002
I have just spent two days at MSNC amongst people who know what HTML and RTF mean. I was concerned before I arrived and terror struck when I left. Will I remember everything I've been taught for this dratted website due to go live in November!
October 2002
The website is taking shape. I work when there is no one else in the house, or early morning before the children come down for breakfast. I am still amused when I log on at 7 am to the message "Good grief, Liz, it's early". Poor Ginny at MSNC must groan when she sees my name attached to yet another email asking for help.
