Katy White - Introduction
Katy lives in yorkshire and is studying a degree in art and design. The pieces here are ceramic but she is interested in developing her work in other, lighter, materials.

'I am Katy White and I have SPMS, the first symptoms showed in 1981 at the age of 17.
Having studied A' level ceramics I then changed tack and studied and worked in the horticultural field until retirement due to ill health in 1996. Since, I have studied Art and Design and covered the first year of a degree until deferring in 2000.
I have spent time since retraining myself in cognitive symptoms, problem solving and functioning skills.
I have been involved in promoting awareness of MS and at the age of 38 am hoping to volunteer in a theatre group for adults with learning disabilities.
I live in Yorkshire with two wonderful daughters aged 8 and 9 and occasionally a dog.
My art work has tried to show in solid form the emotions and physical experiences of the last 22 years. These are very much influenced by textures and the exterior, natural world. I am now investigating lighter, recycled materials rather than heavy ceramics.'
