Judy works using a technique she developed in art school, where parcel string is formed into sculptures.

'It is sometimes impossible to articulate what it is like to live with MS, especially the impact it has on emotional health. Whilst at art school, I developed a technique of constructing sisal (parcel string) into 3D shapes that evolve into organic forms that uncannily resemble human beings. Each piece becomes a visual expression that is made in direct response to the altered sensations and emotional upheaval experienced in MS. Sisal has unique tactile qualities that enable the sight impaired to share the sensuality of the finished pieces.
My work will be exhibited as part of a group exhibition with 'EnableArtists' at the Collect Gallery Liverpool March 14 - Apr 13 2003.
EnableArtists is a group that was formed for artists affected by MS as a result of a millennium award to Catherine Taylor Parry. The exhibition will be touring to Piece Hall, Halifax, Frodsham Arts Centre, Cheshire, Norton Priory, Runcorn Cheshire, Mansfield Museum and Art Gallery Notts, Community Arts Workshop Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, Theatre Clwyd Mold, North Wales'
